Phi Optics CEO Professor Gabriel Popescu and a team of collaborators recently published Optical excitation and detection of neuronal activity, where they used phase imaging to report on intracellular transport induced by optogenetic stimulation. This label-free, contactless measurement of optogenetic response will provide an enabling approach to neuroscience!
